Why We’re Funding the Fireworks
Why Are We Raising Funds?
Midnight on the Gulf is more than a New Year's Eve celebration—it's an investment in the future of Fort Myers Beach.
What's Up FMB was created to support our island's businesses, strengthen our community, and create events that attract visitors during key tourism periods. While New Year's Eve is one of the busiest times of the year, producing a safe, high-quality celebration requires significant funding for entertainment, production, safety, logistics, and the midnight fireworks or drone show.
Your support helps us:
🎆 Create a memorable New Year's Eve experience for residents and visitors alike.
🏝️ Promote Fort Myers Beach as a premier destination during the holiday season.
🤝 Support local businesses by driving customers to restaurants, bars, shops, hotels, and attractions throughout the island.
👮 Provide a safe and well-organized event with the necessary security, traffic management, permits, and public safety resources.
📈 Generate economic impact that benefits the entire community during one of the most important tourism weeks of the year.
🌊 Build a sustainable future for community events that keep visitors returning to Fort Myers Beach year after year.
Every donation, sponsorship, and ticket purchase helps ensure that Midnight on the Gulf remains a community-driven celebration that showcases everything that makes Fort Myers Beach special.
Together, we're creating an event that celebrates not only the arrival of a new year—but the continued growth, resilience, and success of our island community.
Funds raised may be used for:
- Fireworks or drone show production
- Entertainment and live music
- Event permits and insurance
- Security and public safety
- Traffic and crowd management
- Event infrastructure and equipment
- Marketing and promotion
- Community event development and future tourism initiatives
Any funds remaining after event expenses will be used by What's Up FMB to support future community events, tourism initiatives, and programs that benefit Fort Myers Beach and its business community, consistent with our mission as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
This last paragraph is important because it gives you flexibility while staying consistent with the organization's mission and bylaws.
