Midnight on the Gulf is Fort Myers Beach’s New Year’s Eve celebration, bringing the community together to ring in the New Year island-style. The fundraising campaign will support planning, entertainment, production, safety, and the overall midnight celebration experience for the island community.
Why We’re Funding the Fireworks
Midnight on the Gulf is more than a New Year’s Eve celebration — it’s an opportunity to rebuild a tradition and bring the Fort Myers Beach community together to welcome the New Year island-style.
Through community fundraising and local partnerships, What’s Up FMB is working to create a safe, memorable, and destination-worthy event featuring entertainment, countdown experiences, and a signature midnight celebration for residents and visitors alike.
This fundraiser helps support event production, entertainment, safety services, logistics, and the overall guest experience as we work to rebuild a New Year’s Eve tradition Fort Myers Beach can celebrate for years to come.

Midnight On The Gulf New Year's Eve Fundraiser
Overall Goal & Structure
The fundraising drive is broken into three categories:
- Barge – $40,000 Already donated by VesselCraft Homes
- Fireworks – $44,000 - $10,000 donated by The Whale, $7257.50 donated from 4th of July Fireworks drive
- Permitting & Support – $45,000 -
Total Fundraising Goal: $129,000
(Includes above and expenses related to the NYE celebration.)
Timing
- Campaign end date: Oct 31
- After Oct 31, if the campaign is not fully funded, we will make a decision to:
- Cancel the fireworks, or
- Proceed with a smaller show, depending on funds raised
Fund Handling & Contingencies
- All donations are for fireworks, permitting, and support costs
- Donors may choose to be recognized publicly or remain anonymous during the secure online donation process below
- If we do not spend all funds raised, remaining balance will be reserved for our Red, White and Beach 4th of July Celebration
- This drive also funds permitting and support costs for the New Years Eve Celebration.
