South End Zen Recap: Science-Backed Wellness on Fort Myers Beach

On February 22, South End Zen on Fort Myers Beach hosted a wellness talk focused on practical, science-backed ways to feel stronger, improve energy, and support long-term health.

This wasn’t trend-driven wellness. It was measurable, research-supported, and grounded in real data.

Here’s a recap of what we covered.

Hydration, Nutrients & IV Vitamin Therapy

One of the core topics was IV vitamin therapy and how hydration impacts immune function, energy levels, and recovery.

When your body has adequate hydration and key nutrients — like Vitamin C, zinc, magnesium, and B vitamins — it can manage stress, fatigue, and illness more effectively. IV therapy delivers these nutrients directly into the bloodstream, allowing for faster absorption compared to oral supplements.

In a coastal environment like Fort Myers Beach — with sun exposure, activity, and travel — hydration plays a bigger role than most people realize.

Sauna Therapy & Heart Health

We also discussed sauna therapy and cardiovascular health.

Long-term research from Finland followed adults for over 20 years and found that those using a sauna 4–7 times per week had significantly lower risks of heart-related death and overall mortality.

Sauna sessions elevate heart rate similarly to light cardio, support circulation, and help regulate stress response — all factors tied to long-term heart health.

VO₂ Max: One of the Strongest Health Predictors

Another important concept was VO₂ max — a measure of how efficiently your body uses oxygen during exercise.

Large studies consistently show that higher VO₂ max levels are strongly associated with lower risk of early death. The encouraging part? VO₂ max can improve at any age through structured training.

Knowing your baseline gives you a starting point. Improving it builds resilience.

Peptides & Regenerative Therapies

We also covered peptides and regenerative approaches.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. They support repair, hormone balance, metabolism, and recovery. The key takeaway was the importance of a medically guided approach — including lab work, screening, and professional oversight.

Wellness should be personalized, monitored, and safe.
