Celebrate the 4th of July on Fort Myers Beach

There’s no better place to celebrate Independence Day than Fort Myers Beach.

From a patriotic morning parade to an afternoon honoring our nation's heroes, ending with spectacular fireworks over the Gulf, Fort Myers Beach offers a full day of celebration for residents and visitors alike.

Here's how to make the most of your Independence Day on the island.

10:00 AM – Independence Day Parade

Start your day with one of Fort Myers Beach's favorite traditions—the Independence Day Parade.

Bring your family, find a spot along Estero Boulevard early, and enjoy a festive morning filled with decorated floats, local businesses, community organizations, first responders, veterans, and plenty of patriotic spirit.

Don't forget your red, white, and blue!

Pro Tip: Arrive early to find parking and secure a great viewing location. Bring chairs, sunscreen, water, and plenty of patriotic enthusiasm.

Enjoy the Island

After the parade, spend the afternoon exploring everything Fort Myers Beach has to offer.

Relax on the beach, enjoy lunch at one of our waterfront restaurants, browse local boutiques, take a dolphin cruise, rent a paddleboard, or simply soak up the sunshine before the evening festivities begin.

Many local businesses will feature live entertainment, food and drink specials, and a festive holiday atmosphere throughout the day.

It's the perfect opportunity to support the businesses that make Fort Myers Beach such a special destination.

4:00 PM – Freedom by the Bay

Join the community at Bayside Veterans Park for Freedom by the Bay, a patriotic celebration honoring our nation's independence and the men and women who have served our country.

The afternoon includes a veterans recognition ceremony, patriotic programming, live entertainment, and opportunities for the community to come together in celebration of our shared freedoms.

This event reflects the spirit of Fort Myers Beach—neighbors, visitors, businesses, and veterans gathering as one community.

9:00 PM – Fireworks Over the Gulf

Cap off the day with one of Southwest Florida's most anticipated Independence Day traditions as fireworks light up the night sky over the Gulf of Mexico.

Find your favorite viewing location along the beach or enjoy the show from one of the island's waterfront restaurants.

As the fireworks reflect across the water, you'll understand why so many families make Fort Myers Beach part of their Fourth of July tradition year after year.
